Wade K. Dawe

Principal, Chairman and CEO

Mr. Dawe is an accomplished entrepreneur, financier and investor, who strategically approaches each new business opportunity with measured risk-taking to drive value and strong shareholder returns. During his career, Mr. Dawe has completed deals valued in excess of $1 billion for both private and public companies. He has also founded or co-founded many successful companies, including Keeper Resources Inc. (2003), which was sold for $51.6 million in 2008, and Brigus Gold Corp (2010), which was acquired by Primero Mining Corp in 2014 in an all-share deal valued at $351 million. Since 2005, Mr. Dawe has been actively involved as the principal financier of TSX-listed biotechnology company Immunovaccine Inc. In addition, Mr. Dawe is also CEO and a Board Member of Torrent Capital. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Memorial University, where he established and personally funds the annual James R. Pearcey Entrepreneurial Scholarship, and also serves on the Advisory Board to the Faculty of Business Administration.

Jim Megann

In addition to holding the position of Managing Director, Mr. Megann is also an accomplished executive and business leader. He is a Director of Torrent Capital, a publicly-traded investment issuer; Director of Antler Gold; and a Director of Sona Nanotech, a nano technology developer currently listed on the Canadian Stock Exchange. Mr. Megann also brings more than 25 years of experience in the communications and marketing industry. Mr. Megann was awarded the Queens Diamond Jubilee medal in 2012 for his extensive community work.

Carl Sheppard

Strategy Leader

Mr. Sheppard provides strategic planning services to Numus in the areas of opportunity analysis, business planning and corporate strategy. Mr. Sheppard is President and Managing Partner of Strategic Concepts, Inc. He has participated in the preparation of numerous strategic plans, cost/benefit reports and business plans targeted at the identification and analysis of development opportunities. He is intimately familiar with the complexities associated with moving projects forward. Mr. Sheppard has a Master of Development Economics degree from Dalhousie University, a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree from York University’s Glendon College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Memorial University where he majored in economics.

Heather Pomeroy, CPA, CA

Heather Pomeroy, CPA, CA

Controller

Heather has over fifteen years of experience working in financial roles at publicly-traded companies. Prior to her work with Numus Financial, she was the controller for Brigus Gold Corp. Heather holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St Francis Xavier University and is a member of CPA Canada and the Chartered Professional Accountants of Nova Scotia.

Eloise Duplessis

Eloise Duplessis

Business Planning Manager

Eloise has 15 years’ experience in capital markets, spending most of it in emerging economies as investment analyst and consultant. She holds a B.Com Hons degree in Financial Mathematics and is a CFA Charterholder. In her previous roles she acted as investment consultant to large public pension funds, structuring private equity mandates and advising on private market transactions. Eloise brings strengths in investment analysis, particularly financial modelling for M&A activities.

Wynand van Niekerk

Digital Marketing Specialist

Wynand holds a BComm degree in IT & Economics and brings more than 20 years’ experience in digital marketing. Prior to joining Numus, he owned his own full service digital marketing agency focusing on crafting digital strategies for national retail brands, international airports, and commercial shopping venues. He built curated digital programs maximizing the potential of multiple social media platforms, SEO, SEM, web optimization and development driving increased awareness, trust and engagement through a data-driven approach. He brings digital expertise that is essential for engaging the global network of potential investors.

Melanie Abry

Melanie Abry

Administrative Assistant

Melanie brings her daily administrative support to the Numus team and her strong experience with customer service. Prior to working with Numus, she was an assistant in a family-office based in Switzerland and Supervisor in a luxury hotel in Geneva. Melanie studied Management & Accounting at a hospitality school in France.
